Salamanca Market Hobart Tasmania

Five days Travel Tasmania (1/5), Hobart and Salamanca Market

3 December 2016Travel

Tasmania is a place where I have listed on my where-to-go list because my colleagues who visited there all say Tasmania is a beautiful area. Summer is the best season so we have selected December for our visit here.

We rented a car, which we got from the Hobart Airport, as a main means of transportation in Tasmania.

SALAMANCA MARKET

Salamanca Market Hobart Tasmania

The outdoor market makes Hobart alive with the colours, sounds and smells.

Salamanca Market opening hours : every Saturday 8:30 – 15:00.

We heard some kinds of music on the main street like the one on the first photo as well as in the alley below, which made its atmosphere lively.

The size of the market was larger than I expected as there were many stalls selling food, drinks, souvenirs and so on. I recommend you to include Saturday on your plan to visit the market to feel everything.

Kelly’s Steps and Battery Point

Battery Point provides Historic Walk, a place to see history place, to get there, we can go through Kelly’s Steps from the Salamanca Market.

Also scent of roses was excellent in this season.

Mount Wellington

Since it is said that there is great view from a lookout at Mount Wellington, we headed there via our rental car. It takes 30-40 mins. from the centre of the city to the destination.

Unfortunately it was cloudy, but it must be more beautiful when it is sunny and at night.

When we went there it was very windy and cold though it is in December. Please bring an outer jacket just in case.
